Married At First Sight Uk Star Lacey Martin Reveals Fears That Nathan Campbell Faked Their Whole Relationship After Their Brutal Split Left Her In Tears

Heartbroken Married At First Sight UK star Lacey Martin has revealed she fears her ex-husband Nathan Campbell faked his feelings for her during their entire relationship.

Lacey, 27, who is an office manager, tied the knot with Nathan, 25, on the day they met and out of all the contestants matched, the couple seemed the most suited.

However, their marriage was short-lived as the couple split in May after Nathan allegedly failed to support Lacey when she tackled the Race For Life in memory of her late uncle and for her mum, Maxine, who had cancer. At the time, Lacey suggested to Nathan that they may be better off as friends in a bid to provoke him into fighting for their relationship, but instead, he blocked her.

Prior to this, Lacey felt a noticeable shift in his feelings towards her, citing fewer date nights to no more surprise bouquets of flowers.

There were also further concerns for Lacey ahead of her co-star and best pal Holly Ditchfield’s birthday party.

Holly’s Married At First Sight husband Alex Henry had previously locked horns with Lacey on the show, and she was upset that Nathan hadn’t stuck up for her.

Lacey said Nathan was concerned that he would be expected to discuss the matter with Alex, who it turns out wasn’t invited to the party, and was worried how it might look if caught on camera.

In a new interview with The Sun, Lacey said: ‘It does make me question if the whole thing was fake on his part.’

‘I was just like, “Why do you care about how you’re looking?” I feel like he just lacked passion for me and passion for our relationship.’

‘Throughout the experiment, thinking back, he would always say, “Oh, I want to be the nice guy. I just want to be the nice guy”.’

The reality TV star then added that she realised Nathan just ‘cared about his image’ and ‘how he looked’ on the show rather than what was right.

The star also said that she felt protective over Nathan because she had a ‘passion’ for their relationship, however, felt it was not reciprocated.

The former couple have barely spoken since going their separate ways and kept their distance from one another at the cast reunion party.

Despite the fact Lacey feels she has been hurt by Nathan, it appears the star is keen to give him another chance if he decides he wants to make it work.

Lacey confessed that since their split her mental health has gone on a downward spiral as he was her ‘best friend’, and she said it feels like she is ‘grieving a person that’s still alive’ as their relationship went from 100 to zero.

The star then confessed that the pair had ‘such a good relationship’ and ‘genuinely had feelings’ so she feels it’s only right to fight for what you love.

However, despite her positive feelings towards their relationship, Lacey still feels hurt by Nathan as she admitted ‘I just feel like he didn’t appreciate me in the end.’

MailOnline has contacted Nathan for comment.

After three months of love, drama, and tears, Married At First Sight UK came to a climactic end earlier this month as the final couples decided whether to stay together or move on.

Experts Paul C Brunson, Mel Schilling, and Charlene Douglas returned to screens in September to try and match up a new crop of contestants hoping to find someone to settle down with.

As always, the hopefuls were coupled up based on science and sociology, with the brides and grooms then meeting for the first time at the altar.

The newlyweds then face the challenges of married life, moving in together and seeing if they can form a connection with one another while taking part in weekly commitment ceremonies.
