A New Forest gardener’s dreams of finding love may have ended on Married at First Sight UK but he admitted there were some good times as he returned for the final episode of the show.

Caspar Todd, 34, married 31-year-old Emma Barnes, a sales investment manager from Bristol on the E4 programme, Married at First Sight UK.

The reality dating show sees singletons paired together and quite literally married at first sight, before seeing if they’re able to make the relationship work in their day-to-day life in front of the cameras.

Though they wed in the opening episode of the 2024 edition of the series, the couple endured a problematic relationship.

Things took a wrong turn after the pair honeymooned in Jamaica, when things quickly became tense after Caspar confessed to Emma that he didn’t find her attractive and that he rarely dates the “curvier person.”

Over the course of the series, the couple struggled to embrace their marriage in the same way seen by other contestants on the show.

Caspar eventually ended the relationship and exited the show, after admitting: “We both came on here looking to find love and we’ve not found that.”

Returning to the E4 series for the final episode of the latest series, the pair reflected on their time together – seeming more relaxed and good natured with each other.

Caspar said: “There were some really good times.

“I’ve been lucky to have Emma through this process, as much as it’s been a struggle – because we are very different people – it made me realise Emma deserved a husband who could give her what she was looking for and that wasn’t fair on her and that was on me.

“I’m trying to get better, I’m far more aware now of what I would be looking for in a future partner.”

Emma added: “I think the whole experience has taught me that confidence is really attractive.

“I need someone who makes me laugh and I always vowed I need someone to put me in my place.”

Both Caspar and Emma confessed they hadn’t found their forever partners following the end of their relationship.
