Dancing With The Stars couple Laura Nolan and Matthew MacNaab have announced their engagement.
Matthew got down on one knee on a beautiful sunset-lit beach in California, where the couple have been living for the past several months.
Laura and the former Love Island star have been dating since 2022, when they met on the RTÉ One show when they were partnered up together. On Sunday evening, Matthew announced their engagement, captioning a stunning video: “We’ve come a long way.”
Speaking with the Irish Mirror, Laura previously spoke candidly about her relationship with Matthew and the support she has received from him throughout her Dancing With The Stars journey.
She said: “Matthew was delighted when I was partnered with Shane because it is the kind of personality I’ve never been partnered with.”
Laura went on to gush about Matthew’s understanding of the intricate dance show process, highlighting his active involvement in her journey: “He’s like my number one fan. He comes into the studio and helps record it because we always like to record it to watch it back and stuff. He’s the best. He is a great supporter and loves being part of it with me.”
Elsewhere, former Dancing With The Stars pro dancer Ryan McShane announced his engagement news on Sunday with a black-and-white video of him putting his arms around Sylwia Matuszewska and her baby bump, a video which revealed a diamond ring on her finger.
Ryan – who previously dated dance partner Thalia Heffernan for six years – called Sylwia his “soulmate” as he announced that he had popped the question, writing: “If soulmates do exist, they’re not found. They’re made with love #engaged”. Sylwia also shared the happy news, saying: “Easiest yes ever”.
Ryan found love again with Sylwia about six months after his break up with Thalia. Sylwia moved to Ireland from Poland and works for an engineering company in Co Down.
