According to an ABC press release, Dancing With The Stars season 33 will celebrate 500 episodes on November 12, with two rounds of competition. The show will kick off with an opening number choreographed by Dancing With The Stars professional dancers and married couple, Pasha Pashkov and Daniella Karagov. To honor the show’s past, the dancers will perform to “Crazy In Love” by Beyoncé featuring Jay-Z, which was the same song that opened the first episode ever of Dancing With The Stars in season one. The press release also teases the return of some “fan-favorite faces” to the ballroom.
For the first round of the competition, each couple will pay tribute to memorable dances from the past 32 seasons, while “adding their own unique reinterpretation and flair for season 33.” In the second round, the couples will participate in the most challenging dance of the season, an “Instant Dance Challenge.” They won’t be told the dance style or the song to which they’ll be dancing until about five minutes before performing it live.
The Dancing With The Stars season 33 couples’ round one dance styles and songs have been revealed. Dwight and Daniella will perform an Argentine tango, inspired by James Hinchliffe and Sharna Burgess’ season 23 performance to “Santa Maria (Del Buen Ayre)” by Gotan Project, while Chandler and Brandon will perform an Argentine tango, inspired by Kellie Pickler and Derek Hough’s season 16 performance to “Para Te” by Appart. Ilona and Alan will perform a quickstep, inspired by Jordan Fisher and Lindsay Arnold’s season 25 performance to “Chuck Berry” by Pharrell Williams, while Stephen and Rylee will perform a Viennese waltz, inspired by Charli D’Amelio and Mark Ballas’ season 31 performance to “Glimpse of Us” by Joji.
What The Dancing WIth The Stars Season 33 500th Episode Dances Mean For The Contestants
These Will Be The Most Challenging Dances Of The Season
Not only will the Instant Dances be incredibly challenging for the remaining Dancing With The Stars season 33 contestants because they’ll have to be ready for anything, but, in round one, they’re also going to be compared to some of the greatest contestants from the past 32 seasons. Two of the judges, Carrie Ann and Bruno, critiqued the original dances, so they’ll surely be looking for the newest contestants to take those routines to the next level.

Jenn Tran and Sasha Farber’s shocking elimination during Halloween Nightmares Night is a reminder that fans have to vote for their favorites to stay in the competition because anything could happen.
Our Take On The Dancing With The Stars Season 33 500th Episode Dances
The 500th Episode Will Be Spectacular
It’s very exciting and touching to hear that Dancing With The Stars will be honoring its rich history. The show premiered on June 1, 2005, nearly two decades ago. The season 1 winners were actress Kelly Monaco and her professional dance partner, Alec Mazo. Kelly was recently let go from General Hospital after 21 years of playing Sam McCall on the soap opera, so it would be wonderful to see her return nearly twenty years after her historic win.
Dancing With The Stars teased that familiar fan faces will return, so it’ll be fantastic to see some beloved fan favorites, both celebrities and professional dancers, return. There have been 394 celebrities and 51 pros who’ve competed, so there are many different possibilities. It would also be lovely to see original host Tom Bergeron back in the ballroom. In addition, it’s going to be thrilling to see the throwback dances by the newest contestants, along with Daniella and Pasha’s tribute to the show’s original opening number. Dancing With The Stars season 33’s 500th episode will be its best yet.
