Despite the team’s first 10 of the season and winning their Dance Off, a reality star was sent packing on ABC’s Dancing With the Stars.
This team performed a vampire-themed dance during Halloween Night, where each star had to craft a dance inspired by their greatest fears.
The team performed a vampire-themed dance, and even were paid a special visit by Buffy the Vampire Slayer star Alyson Hannigan in rehearsals.
They earned their first 10 of the season from judge Carrie Ann Inaba and 9’s from both Derek Hough and Bruno Tonioli, while also winning their Dance-Off.
Still, all that wasn’t enough to stop this team from being eliminated, with the top 6 teams now set.
The eliminated team was Jenn Tran, the 26 year-old who was the first Asian American Bachelorette , and her pro partner Sasha Farber.
They received high scores from the judges but clearly didn’t get enough audience votes to move on in the competition.
Co-host Julianne Hough, 36, asked her what were the biggest things she learned and would take away from her time on the show.
‘Honestly so much, but just to be here, I’m just so grateful to have met all the people I’ve met here. Everybody here has been so amazing and so kind,’ Tran said.
She said of her partner Sasha Farber, ‘We’ve spent the last seven weeks attached at the hips and I don’t even know what, I can’t even imagine a life without Sasha at this point.’
Jenn and Sasha danced a contemporary routine dressed as vampires, set to Vampire by Olivia Rodrigo.
‘I’ve dated a lot of vampires in my past, sucking the energy out of me,’ Jenn said.
Alyson Hannigan, from Buffy the Vampire Slayer and a finalist on DWTS on a previous season, stopped by rehearsal to give Jenn vampireointers.
Alyson told her just to commit. Jenn danced with blood painted down her face.
Carrie Ann gave them a ten. The judges gave them a score of 28 out of 30.
Olympic rugby player Ilona Maher, 28, opened up the show dancing the tango with Alan Bersten. Each of the stars shared their nightmares and Ilona said hers were scary movies.
Ilona, wearing a blue silky dress, danced to the song Psycho Killer by the Talking Heads. She ended the dance pushing Alan to the ground and then dragging him by his leg as he tried to escape.
The judges gave them a score of 24 out of 30.
NBA star Dwight Howard, 38, danced a creepy contemporary routine with Daniella Karagach. Dwight wanted to ‘outperform’ his last performance to stay in the competition.
They danced a scary routine together with Dwight picking up Daniella and carrying her over his shoulders. Daniella acted like she was trying to get away from him.
Dwight and Daniella both teared up after their dance saying they had a tough week. Carrie Ann was so impressed she gave them the first 10 of the season, with a total of 28 out of 30.
Former NFL player and two-time Super Bowl champion Danny Amendola, 38, danced an Argentine tango with Witney Carson next.
He also shared that he had a fear of snakes so Witney had a real snake brought to their rehearsal.
Carrie Ann also gave them a 10. The judges gave them a combined score of 28 out of 30.
Former ‘Bachelor’ star Joey Graziadei, 29, danced the Argentine Tango with Jenna Johnson dressed like a ventriloquist and his doll.
They went to the haunted hayride with their partners to get into character. Jenna brought her husband Val Chmerkovskiy, 38, and Joey brought his fiancee Kelsey Anderson, 26.
Carrie Ann and Bruno gave them both 10s for a total combined score of 29 out of 30. Joey was shocked and blown away.
Olympic gymnast Stephen Nedoroscik, 25, who won two bronze medals as a pommel horse specialist, danced a contemporary routine with Rylee Arnold. Stephen was determined to improve his score and played a ‘nightmare character that lurks in the dark.’
Stephen dragged Rylee across the dance floor for their finale as she pretended to try to escape.
‘That was the best of the night!’ Carrie Ann said, as Bruno added, ‘You found your dramatic persona! Well done.’ The judges gave them a 28 out of 30.
Disney actress Chandler Kinney, 24, danced a Viennese Waltz to the song Secrets with Brandon Armstrong. Chandler and Brandon had immunity from the dance off so they channeled their energy into their one twisted performance of the night.
‘I am and I think we all are totally spellbound,’ Bruno said. ‘The quality of movement, that really was exquisite.’
Derek and Bruno both gave them 10’s and Carrie Ann gave them a 9 for a total score of 29 out of 30.
For the dance off portion of the show, Dwight and Daniella went up against Ilona and Alan. They both danced to the same song at the same time to win three extra points to be added to their scores. They all danced the Cha-Cha to Ghostbusters theme song.
‘Both of you have come so far in this competition,’ Carrie Ann said.
Dwight and Daniella were picked as the winners.
Jenn battled against Stephen and his partner dancing a salsa.
‘It’s apples and oranges we will see who we are going to choose,’ Derek said.
Jenn was told she was the winner and said she was ‘speechless’ after getting three bonus points added to her score
Danny and Joey faced off in the night’s final dance-off doing a Jive to Rocky Horror Picture Show’s The Time Warp.
‘Boys you were so hot and did so well, the energy level was out of this world,’ Bruno said.
Joey and his partner Jenna were declared the winner and received the extra bonus points.
Dancing with the Stars will return next Tuesday November 12th on ABC.
