Married At First Sight UK viewers were left fuming after Lacey’s mum broke down in tears following a clash with her new son in law Nathan on Thursday, and claimed her ‘performance’ was a bid to land her own spot on the show.
The episode saw the newlyweds visited by their families as they attempted to settle into life as couples just weeks after walking down the aisle.
But things got off to a bad start when Lacey’s mother asked vegetarian Nathan to chop chicken for fajitas, an offer he politely declined.
She admitted ‘never meeting’ a veggie before and later went on to question his motives with daughter Lacey, who had pre warned her new husband not to engage in ‘banter’ with her mum.
Following the meal Nathan, who suffers from ADHD, made a joke about the food being terrible – despite him not eating any – only for Lacey’s mother to break down in tears, calling him ‘rude’
Taking to X fans fumed: ‘That mum really wants to be this season’s IT girl, someone escort her off set’: Looks like Lacey’s mum needs to be on the show herself, her acting fits in with the madness of this show’: ‘I bet when Lacey’s mum have that performance were absolutely rubbing their hands together like they’d won the lottery’.

Earlier in the episode viewers were left in hysterics when hunky new groom Luke made his debut on the show.
The musclebound Maltese, 30, who tied the knot with fellow newbie Amy, introduced himself during his intro as a ‘true gentleman’ who was looking for his Mrs Right.
However as the cameras showed footage of his everyday life as he did his ironing and and chopped wood, Luke was topless throughout.
Taking to X fans were convinced it was all a parody with one exclaiming the groom must be ‘taking the p***’.

Luke describes himself as a traditional gentleman and says he will romance his wife by making her home cooked meals and complimenting her appearance.
After relocating from Malta to the UK, Luke trained in Youth Rehabilitation and works in a prison but in his spare time has competed in body building competitions.
He has ranked first place in tournaments across the world after committing his life to the sport, which saw him transform his body.
Luke admits his previous partners would describe him as a ‘princess’ and says his celebrity crush is A-list actress Margot Robbie.
His biggest turnoff is bad table manners and he hopes being part of the dating show will teach him how to be ‘vulnerable’ in front of his wife.
