Young and the Restless: Summer Newman Abbott Gets Supplies

Christine (Lauralee Bell) met Chance at the bar at Society. She wanted news to bolster the case against Diane (Susan Walters). However, Chance didn’t have much to give her, but he told her that he was starting to doubt things were as clear-cut as they’d thought. Chance insisted he wanted to follow up on the evidence Jack presented, and even though Christine wasn’t convinced, she trusted Chance’s instincts.

Sharon (Sharon Case) greeted Summer (Allison Lanier) at Crimson Lights. She checked in with Summer about how she was feeling, and then Summer placed an order for two coffees and a bag of carbs. Sharon pointed out that Summer’s choice of words reminded her of Phyllis.

At the GCAC, Phyllis texted Summer to meet her in room 353. Surprisingly, the key card was in her pocket. As she left, Summer ran into Chance, and he wondered if it was all for her. Summer lied, and she wondered if Chance had any news. He said the case was officially closed, but he was still turning over every stone.
Sharon greeted Chance and asked him about the champagne. However, Chance didn’t know what she was talking about, so she explained. He offered to investigate, but Sharon declined, so Chance left for work.

Young and the Restless: Summer Newman Abbott Insists

Summer went to the room, and she and Phyllis hugged. She wondered how her mom got her the keycard, and Phyllis explained she’d followed her. Summer pointed out that Phyllis being there was risky considering the charges she could face, but Phyllis said she couldn’t run. After all, Phyllis wouldn’t leave her children even though Summer said it would be okay.

Summer confessed that she told Daniel the truth, and Phylls already knew. She let her mom know that Daniel had told her secret and that so many people knew she was alive. Phyllis wondered if Christine and Chance believed she was alive. Summer was stunned that Phyllis wasn’t angry. She let her mom know that Daniel told everybody that Phyllis had contacted him, and she wasn’t happy about Daniel’s lie. Phyllis said she wanted to see Daniel, and Summer warned her against that.

Chance arrived at the hotel room Jeremy and Phyllis had stayed in, and he started looking for evidence. He went to the dumpster and riffled through some trash bags. He found a tear-stained, crumpled program from Phyllis’s memorial service. He called to find out if they could get DNA from that.

Young and the Restless: Family Matters

Abby (Melissa Ordway) told Devon (Bryton James) that she was worried about her mom and his dad. She thought her mom had lost her mind, but Devon said Ashley was one of the smartest people he knew. He suggested maybe Tucker was trustworthy, and Abby worried, especially because of Dominic.

Devon admitted that he didn’t believe Tucker’s retirement. He suggested that Tucker had some scheme that Ashley was key to. Abby freaked out over her mom getting hurt again and Tucker scheming against Jabot. Devon suggested he build up his relationship with Tucker to try to find out what might really be going on with his dad, and Abby loved that Devon was worried about her and her mom.

Tucker (Trevor St. John) apologized for putting Ashley (Eileen Davidson) on the spot and pointed out he’d brilliantly played along with her sudden engagement announcement. He wanted to know where things stood between him and Ashley. She apologized for saying what she said, but Ashley said she couldn’t tell Tucker what he wanted to hear.

Ashley admitted that she was attracted to Tucker and liked spending tie with him, but he wasn’t too pleased. However, Ashley allowed that she trusted him more every day but couldn’t say she loved him. Tucker was sad and wished Ashley could love him for who he was instead of what he could be. She encouraged him to focus on their fake engagement with some big wedding planning.

Ashley suggested they marry in a castle and have a big fancy honeymoon. Tucker couldn’t believe Ashley had put so much thought into the whole thing. She pointed out that there was a difference between her wedding fantasies in general and fantasizing about him. Ashley said she felt like things between them were working out, though, and she admitted that the whole thing might ultimately work.

Y&R Recap: Awkward Family Moments

Daniel (Michael Graziadei) remembered his argument with Summer. Lily (Christel Khalil) walked up to him at the Genoa City Athletic Club bar and kissed him. Lucy (Lily Brooks O’Briant) noticed Lily’s familiar greeting. Lily offered to take them to dinner, but Daniel said they already had plans.

Lucy invited Lily to their dinner at Society with Johnny (Paxton Mishkind), Connor (Judah Mackey), Chelsea (Melissa Claire Egan), and Billy (Jason Thompson). Ultimately, Lily agreed to go, and Lucy wasn’t sure what was going on. Later, they showed up at Society, and it was slightly awkward. The kids decided to sit at another table, leaving the adults alone together.

Things got even more awkward as they decided what to order, and Lily knew Billy’s favorites. Billy asked Lily about Charlie, and he was good. Over at the kids’ table, Lucy asked Connor and Johnny about the lowdown on the whole big family, and it was certainly a tangled tale. Lucy understood since she had a similar blended family. Lucy and Johnny seemed to connect, which Connor didn’t appreciate too much.

Ultimately, Chelsea and Lily started discussing work, and Billy suggested dessert. The adults noticed the kids laughing and having fun, so they decided to try doing it too. Before they all left, Johnny got Lucy’s number. After everybody else left, Chelsea noticed Connor seemed down, but he didn’t open up to her.
