Filming for the 2025 season of Married At First Sight is officially in full swing, with new brides and grooms eagerly stepping into their televised ‘marriages.’
And as they embark on their journey, former MAFS couple Jack Dunkley, 34, and Tori Adams, 27, have shared some pearls of wisdom exclusively with Daily Mail Australia.
Reflecting on their experience, Jack, who was known for his candid nature during the 2024 series, issued a stern warning to the upcoming cast members.
‘First one would be don’t trust easily,’ he cautioned. ‘Be really careful with who you trust and who you let into your inner sanctum.
‘You do have to be yourself—I wouldn’t say try and be anyone else or speak out a line if it’s not who you are.’
Jack, who entered the experiment with a wealth of dating experience, emphasised the importance of being mentally prepared for how the show might portray you.
‘The powers of that show can do magic with who you are and how you’re portrayed,’ he explained.
‘At the end of the day, it’s about being prepared for the worst. Hopefully, you’re not aiming for the worst.’
‘And if you meet it somewhere in the middle or come out as a white knight or a poster couple, that’s fantastic. But just be mentally prepared for the worst, and you’re ready for anything.’
Meanwhile, Tori offered her insights on building a relationship in such an intense environment.
‘I think it’s really important to get a good understanding of who your partner is really early on,’ she shared.
‘It doesn’t have to be on camera. In fact, I wouldn’t suggest having that chat on camera. Just lay the land out, get to know each other on a real personal level and what your intentions are from the get-go.’
She stressed the importance of partnership, especially in a situation where you might not feel a romantic connection immediately.
‘Your partner is really your only teammate, and I guess the only one you can trust if you get a good one throughout the entirety of the show,’ she noted.
‘Even if you don’t have a romantic connection with your partner until you guys navigate and leave together, you’re still a team.’
Jack and Tori are no strangers to navigating a relationship without an initial spark.
The couple candidly admitted that there wasn’t a strong sexual attraction between them when they first met.
However, they found that investing time in each other, especially away from the prying eyes of the cameras, was crucial.
When asked how the 2025 couples should navigate their marriages if they don’t feel that spark, the couple insisted that the best way was to spend quality time together on the weekends, away from the cameras.
‘Look, I’m no dating expert, but it’s like any situation. I was 34 going into the show, I dated before, and it doesn’t always spark straight away. You don’t know someone until you know someone,’ Jack suggested.
He continued, ‘The physical attraction can be there, it mightn’t be there, and if it is, great. If it’s not, you want to get to know someone as well. That all takes time.’
‘Particularly with MAFS, obviously, there’s a lot of filming, a lot of pressures—you’re told where to be and what to do. So it would be time spent off camera with your partner as well, when the cameras aren’t in your face, and there’s no influence from production.’
Tori echoed these sentiments, recalling how they built their connection.
‘We got to know each other when we signed off at night, when there was no one around, we’d have dinner and chat. And on the weekends, we’d chat. We got to know each other away from the filming,’ she explained.
‘That’s the key. Obviously, production wants to see that unravel on camera, but we know what they can do with it.’
‘You could be the happiest couple in Australia, and if they don’t want that for you, that’s not what they’re going to portray anyway.’
