Married At First Sight’s Domenica Calarco has been slammed for a ‘disrespectful’ act during her European holiday.

The reality television star-turned-influencer, 31, took to Instagram earlier this week to share a video of herself visiting the Vatican City.

Wearing a white dress and sandals, the former TV bride showed fans the incredible art on the walls and ceilings as she visited the Sistine Chapel.

But fans immediately called her out for using her phone to film footage inside the chapel, which has a policy of no photography.

‘Sorry Dom, this is super disrespectful, I don’t understand why you would have done this as such a proud Italian,’ wrote one fan.

‘When they say no filming but you do it anyway cause you know, you’re special,’ another sarcastic comment read.

‘It just shows self entitlement and that you think you’re better than everyone else who respects the rules,’ another said.

‘You are not meant to use your phone inside, it’s secret for a reason, I’m sure you were told but clearly ignored it,’ said one more.

Domenica then admitted she ‘hid her phone inside her bag’ but was told to stop filming by guards.

‘I spoke with the security guards after this and they said it’s because it clogs up the area and that’s why they say no photos. But okay,’ she explained.

The chapel includes famous images painted on the ceiling by legendary Renaissance artist Michelangelo.

The prohibition of photography and video has been in place in the Sistine Chapel for several decades.

The backlash comes after Domenica announced her podcast with fellow MAFS alum Ella Ding will come to an end.

The reality duo shared the news to their official Facebook page on Wednesday alongside a heartfelt explanation.

‘As I sit down to write this, my heart is filled with gratitude for each and every one of you,’ began Domenica.

‘Ella and I have come to a joint decision: it is the right time for Sit With Us to come to an end.

‘This decision was not made lightly, and it comes with a mix of emotions. We have loved every moment, and ending this chapter is bittersweet.

‘However, we believe it is the best step forward for both of us,’ she continued.

‘We think it is the right time now to move on with our own solo projects and explore new opportunities that lie ahead.’

Domenica concluded the message with an optimistic outlook for the future.

‘I am excited for what the future holds and am committed to continuing this journey online with the same passion and dedication that has brought us this far,’ she said.
