Filming for the 2025 season of Married at First Sight is well and truly underway.

And as next year’s brides and grooms prepare to settle into their new ‘married’ lives, Jesse Burford, who appeared on series 10 has offered them words some advice.

Speaking exclusively to Daily Mail Australia, the Perth-based wedding celebrant outlined his top tips for navigating life after the show, ensuring new cast members make the most of their newfound fame.

Burford was paired up with Claire Nomarhas on the 2023 series and has now given new cast members advise about how to ride high on their global fame.

He recommends the new stars take the opportunity to travel to countries where MAFS airs, warning that their recognition will not last forever.

‘Start with New Zealand, then head to the UK, and so on,’ he explained.

He said this will not only allow them to explore new places but also connect with international fans.

While acknowledging that many agents take significant cuts, Burford also stressed the importance of having one to lock down those all important jobs.

‘Getting offered any opportunity and earning a little is better than getting offered none and earning nothing,’ he said.

He also encouraged cast members to engage with fans through personalised videos in another unique way to cash in on their fame.

‘You may have a tonne of people asking you to send a video to a friend for a happy birthday, engagement, or get better soon,’ he explained.

Whether choosing to give them for free or charging $50 per video on Cameo, he insisted it is a great way to connect with the MAFS audience.

He also encourages the new cast members to make the most of their weekends by meeting fans and networking with managers, CEOs, and business owners.

‘Meet new people, talk to fans, get photos with them,’ he advised.

‘There’s only a limited amount of weekends until you fade into irrelevancy, make the most of every single one.’

Whether it’s growing a business, starting a podcast, becoming an influencer or launching a clothing line, Burford stresses the importance of having clear goals when rising to fame.

‘Make it clear as day and draw a roadmap for how you will achieve those goals,’ he advised.

Reflecting on his biggest regret, Burford urged the new stars to share their experience with their loved ones.

‘If you come from a family who don’t understand just how massive a show MAFS is, take them out for lunch or dinner,’ he suggested.

He said that allowing them to witness fans approaching for hellos and photographs can help them grasp the reality of your impact.

‘My parents and brother didn’t get to see any of that,’ he lamented. ‘They need to see it with their own eyes. Give them another reason to be proud of you.’
