Former and forever Housewives Adrienne Maloof and Cynthia Bailey were recently on SiriusXM’s Jeff Lewis Live, where Maloof recalled a scary incident involving her infant son.
Maloof was with her baby, his nanny, and her security detail at Neiman Marcus 19 years ago when a strange woman tried to abscond with her child.
“My nanny and I were there and security was over further away and this lady came up and my son was crying and she actually took him out of my nanny’s hands and started going towards the elevator,” Maloof said.
She continued, “Thank god I had security, but he was in the back looking. The whole thing went down in seconds. It was, and that’s at Neiman Marcus, but I guess it makes sense if you’re looking for kids that come from wealth.”
Maloof was a main cast member of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills during the halcyon days of its first three seasons, though she’s appeared as a friend in later seasons. The businesswoman was known as perhaps the richest of the Beverly Hills ladies, her fortune derived from the Maloof family empire, which includes stakes in the NBA’s Sacramento Kings, the NHL’s Vegas Golden Knights, and The Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas, among others.
Maloof says the kidnapping attempt was “terrible” and the cops had to get involved. Ultimately, she was relieved that her security person was there to foil the plot.
“I was glad he saw it,” Maloof said. “He wanted to be away from us. We were just sitting there and [giving] us our freedom, but no. He was on top of it. I actually thought, ‘Wow, thank god,’ because what if he wasn’t there.”
