Married At First Sight season 17 has seen Lauren Goodger in and out of the season, but she’s revealing more information about her contract with the series after getting backlash from fans. Lauren was matched up with Orion Martzloff before her MAFS wedding, but her time with her partner was short-lived. Though the couple appeared to get along during their wedding ceremony, things began to falter during their honeymoon. Lauren and Orion’s relationship crumbled quickly, leaving her divorced two weeks into the process. As Married At First Sight season 17 has continued, Lauren and Orion’s appearances have been limited.

“[I] didn’t realize all the contractual strings attached.”

Though Lauren’s Instagram is private, she commented on a post shading people who have come at her for appearing on Married At First Sight. “Every week same comments…why are yall still watching? Its sunny af outside but yall wanna watch a HIGHLY edited tv show instead of getting Vitamin D?! I know exactly why I had to film, but why yall are still willingly watching whilst complaining is beyond me. Free yourselves like I cou- nvm,” Lauren wrote. She shared she “thought MAFS would be an exciting way to…start a love story but didn’t realize all the contractual strings attached.”

Lauren Denies She’s “Despreate” For Attention

While Lauren shared that she doesn’t understand why people are still watching Married At First Sight season 17 if they’re uninterested, she also expressed that she doesn’t agree with the claims that she’s “desperate” for attention. “Call me Marsahwn Lynch (bc I’m not getting fined), call me Denzel Washinton (bc I’m leaving here with something), but don’t call me desperate,” Lauren wrote at the end of her comment. She explained that during her time on MAFS, she didn’t realize that there were many contractual obligations. Some obligations probably revolved around her continuing to appear on the series after the divorce.

Lauren and Orion’s relationship has been difficult to watch at times, as their connection went from being an organic attraction to complete disinterest quickly. For Lauren, there were things Orion felt comfortable with regarding her race and culture that she didn’t condone. The couple weren’t seeing eye-to-eye in many respects, and though Orion has now tried to make it seem like he’s interested in reconnecting, he offered very little explanation surrounding their divorce in the early phases of Married At First Sight season 17. The majority of Lauren’s appearances on the show have been to rebuff Orion’s strange advances.

As Married At First Sight season 17 winds down, Lauren and Orion’s relationship has taken a back seat to the only remaining couple deciding on their fate. While Lauren has been available to offer counsel for Chloe Brown in her decision about staying married to Michael Shiakallis, her time on the series has taken a far more reduced role after her marriage dissolved. Though she’s receiving criticism for her appearance on Married At First Sight, Lauren knows just how to deal with the haters who haven’t left her alone.
