Love Island: All Stars contestant Mitchel Taylor made it clear he didn’t want Abi Moores and Ella Barnes to join him in the villa.
Despite reported romances with both stars outside of the villa after meeting them on the show last summer, the Love Island 2023 star is keen to avoid his exes in his latest villa stint. Mitchel was announced for the line-up of the special all stars series kicking off next week.
But with stars from all series joining the show, and some exes reuniting, Mitchel appeared to make a dig at his two Love Island exes, after love triangle drama last summer. Asked about seeing any exes in the villa, he suggested Ella and Abi might be tempted to enter the villa in a bid to get back with him.
Not only that, but he shut down any hopes of a reunion with either ex saying he saw “no future with them” and it “wouldn’t happen”. Saying he’d “rather not” see either of the ex-Islanders join him on the show, he was quick to rule out any reconciliations.
He said: “I’d rather it not happen. I’ll be honest, I see no future with either Ella or Abi. So, if I was coupled up with someone and they came in to break it up, it wouldn’t happen.”
Mitch has admitted to game playing already as his planned tactic, saying: “I think I went in with my heart on my sleeve the first time and got hurt and this time I am just going in to enjoy myself and if a connection happens, a connection happens. Honestly when I went in for series ten, you saw me and Molly, I went for Molly, I wanted her. And with this one, I am not going to make myself that vulnerable. I am going to play the game.”
He also hinted he may do things a little differently this time around, after being dubbed Messy Mitch for his constant drama in the villa last summer. He said: “I want to just go in, and keep my options open. I am not an expert at this stuff, well I wasn’t, maybe I am now? I wasn’t last time, so this time, it’s going to be different…”
On why he’s back on the show to find love not even a year on from his last stint, he said: “You have to get to know people. Anyone who has not been in the villa, will never understand how you can catch feelings for someone a lot quicker. In the real world you see people once or twice a week, but in there you are with them all the time.”
