Married At First Sight UK’s biggest success story Adam Aveling and Tayah Victoria got hitched for real – and there were some awkward-looking exes in attendance just to carry on the drama.
Two years after meeting on the hit E4 love-finding show, Adam, 28, and Tayah, 27, who now share a 13 month old daughter Beau Emily, legally became husband and wife. The officially wed in a magical winter wedding at a stately home in North Yorkshire days after Christmas.
After their relationship blossomed on the reality show, Adam got down on one knee to ask Tayah to marry him last year, and this time it was all for real. Naturally, their near 200-strong guest-list included some of their former co-stars from their series, including Franky Spencer, Marilyse Corrigan, Megan Wolfe, Bob Voysey and Amy Christophers who they have kept in touch with after the cameras stopped rolling.
“It was such a beautiful day, everything went so amazingly well,” Adam told OK! Magazine, who covered their special day. “But I think because I held it together during the day, it all hit me later on and I got quite emotional. The wedding was exactly as we wanted it – it was just amazing.”
Tayah calls this their “official” wedding, compared to the one for the show which of course isn’t legally binding. She says it was everything they dreamed of, with hundreds of flickering candles, and white roses and Gypsophila adorning their stunning venue at Carlton Towers. She decided to go for a “extravagant and beautiful” dress over her more “classic” selection for the show.
She said: “It was such a beautiful day, everything went so amazingly well. But I think because I held it together during the day, it all hit me later on and I got quite emotional. “I was so overwhelmed. It’s the biggest day of your life and then you’re just living it. It’s the most crazy, surreal experience. It was just emotions that I’ve never, ever felt before.”
The MAFS stars perviously confessed that they had thought about tying the knot at the same venue as their TV ceremony but Tayah admitted: “When it’s in the UK you can never predict the weather.” She added that a “rainy day would have ruined the ceremony,” so they have chosen a venue which is “all enclosed”.
They had been planning to wed on the same date both their parents married, but, the arrival of their little one has prompted them to delay their plans. Back in 2022 it was announced that they would become the first couple from the experiment to have a baby together. Tayah told her Instagram followers: “Introducing you all to our precious girl, Beau Emily Aveling, we are completely besotted, she is perfect in every single way.
“To my Adam, I didn’t think I could love you even more but seeing you with our daughter completely fills my heart.” She added: “Just want to say a massive thank you to Doncaster hospital, for going above and beyond to reassure me and to the amazing lady who stayed after her shift had finished to deliver our girl.
