Former Married At First Sight star Elizabeth Sobinoff was rushed to hospital over the weekend after a medical emergency just one month after welcoming her daughter.
The reality star, 32, shared a photo to Instagram of herself lying in a hospital bed and said doctors found ‘bugs living in her from birth’.
‘Saturday till Thursday- found out I had some very nasty bugs living in me from birth. So happy I have my answers,’ she began.
‘I had an infection for all the duration of my postpartum and my results had come back from a swab that resulted in a phone call on Friday afternoon stating that I needed to go to hospital for 6 days and be on a drip of antibiotics.’
She explained she’d been taking oral antibiotics the last few weeks but the infection didn’t improve.
‘The bugs I have could lead to ICU stay if not treated and very scary consequences if they reach my organs,’ Elizabeth continued.
‘I should have spoke up earlier that things weren’t right. I just didn’t know what to expect postpartum. Still, at least they found the bugs before something really bad could have happened to me.’
It comes just weeks after Elizabeth revealed she was suffering from a uterus infection after giving birth to her first child in November.
The new mother shared a photo to Instagram of herself smiling near her Christmas tree and explained she has been feeling unwell.
‘You wouldn’t know I was sweating with a fever due to a uterus infection last night, would you?’ she captioned the post.
Elizabeth shared her baby joy on social media in November and described the moment as ‘the happiest day in her life’.
‘The day I was able to hold my dream girl in my arms. Right on 41 weeks. So much for potentially coming early. My gosh, she is everything and more,’ she said.
Elizabeth also shared a second close-up photo cradling her newborn, writing: ‘She is absolute perfection to me. She is everything to me. I’m so in love with our daughter. Words cannot express my love for her. My heart.’
She chose not to reveal the name of her little girl, however.
