3 What If Theories That Would Make Brilliant Grey’S Anatomy Storylines

Grey’s Anatomy fandom does have some great theories that the writers should really listen to. Here are three what-if moments that would be the turning points for these Grey’s Anatomy characters (according to Reddit).

1. What If Lexie Grey Had Survived to Become a Fun Aunt?

Meredith’s half-sister is one character that fans feel was underexplored. Imagine if Lexie had survived in that horrible accident in season 8 and had gone on to bond with Meredith, becoming her close friend and a fun aunt to her and Derek’s kids.

Plus, she would serve as a great representation of a childfree woman (and doctor) who loves other people’s kids without necessarily wanting to have her own. So many opportunities missed!

2. What If Adele Webber Had Never Had a Miscarriage?

Richard and Adele had one of the most fascinating sub-plots in the series. At first, Adele seemed pretty content about not having kids, but the writers decided to make her pregnant in her 50s out of the blue and miscarry the child. Why, though?

Adele’s pregnancy made no sense and was treated like it was no big deal for a woman of her age when it should’ve been taken more seriously. Adele could’ve departed from the show without that ridiculous pregnancy storyline as a proud childfree woman she always was.

3. What If Arizona Robbins Hadn’t Changed Her Mind?

Arizona was yet another character who went from being actively against having children to being stuck in a co-parenting situation. She had so much potential – she could’ve broken up with Callie once and for all and become that doctor who traveled around the world helping patients and training other doctors.

Instead, the writers decided that a childfree woman plot would be too outrageous, but a tri-parenting thing would be groundbreaking, so Arizona got her not-so-happy ending with Callie in the end. Honestly, these women deserved better than what they had gotten.
