Waiting for a new season can be stressful, but in the end you may (or may not) be rewarded with a good story.
Grey’s Anatomy is currently on hiatus after season 19 ended not too long ago. It was announced to be Krista Vernoff’s last season as showrunner of the medical drama. And frankly, fans are a little worried about what the new season will bring them.
Not every twist in season 19 was well received by viewers. So now they want to make sure that new executive producer Meg Marinis, who will take over for season 20, takes into account every major narrative request. Like these three story aspects.
1. Helm succeeding in love life
Taryn Helm has been a regular character on Grey’s Anatomy for the last 5 seasons. And fans hope that it will remain so. Although being on the show for not-so-long, she already managed to become a fan favorite character that fans want to succeed in both professional and personal life.
That’s why the fans were really overwhelmed when she was so hung up on Meredith, who obviously couldn’t feel the same love towards her. So when in season 19 Helm finally hooked up with Mika Yasuda, bringing much joy to them and to the fandom.
So now fans just can’t wait to see more of this adorable relationship in season 20.
2. Miranda being there for Richard
Grey’s Anatomy is a show filled with drama. So when the end of season 19 hinted at yet another character in trouble, it just… made sense. This time it’s Richard Webber who will be in danger in the upcoming season. But he will be saved for sure.
And the one who saves him should definitely be Miranda Bailey. These two are the regulars of the show from its season 1 and they share a really close bond since then. So now that Webber is likely to fall off the wagon and face his addiction again, it should be Bailey (and not his wife, for example) who will show him the tough love.
3. When less is not more
One of the most common requests that fans have made over the years is to bring back one of the show’s best characters, Dr. Addison Montgomery, after she left for her own spinoff Private Practice after Grey’s Anatomy season 8.
So when she came back in Season 18, fans couldn’t have been happier, even though it was stated that her return was only temporary. But luckily, she stayed until the end of season 19. And the fans just want to keep it that way. Well, they’ve been waiting for Kate Walsh’s iconic character for so long, it’s only natural that they don’t want to let her go.
